Quesnel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>POSITION: Casual Residence Worker<\/p>\n<p>City: Quesnel<\/p>\n<p>Number of Positions: 2<\/p>\n<p>Posting Date: March 11, 2024<\/p>\n<p>Closing Date: Until Filled<\/p>\n<p>Salary: $25.05-$28.75 per hour for day and afternoon shifts<\/p>\n<p>$22.02-$25.26 per hour for sleeping night shifts<\/p>\n<p>Automobile:\u00a0\u00a0 Required<\/p>\n<p>Nature:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assists Adults with Developmental Disabilities to live successfully in residential settings such as Community Group Housing and Supported Independent Living.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that the Individual\u2019s physical, emotional, social, educational and medical needs are met.<\/li>\n<li>Assists the Individual to enhance quality of life with activities of daily living and the development of life skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Qualifications (Education):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grade 12 diploma or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Non-violent crisis intervention training (Mandt or Equivalent)<\/li>\n<li>Valid Emergency Level First Aid Certificate with Adult CPR component<\/li>\n<li>Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License<\/li>\n<li>Clear Criminal Record Review for the purposes of working with vulnerable adults<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Key Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participates in the assessment, goal setting and service planning for individuals living in a residence.Documents, implements and provides input into the evaluation of the services.<\/li>\n<li>Provides life skills training such as meal preparation, housekeeping, personal care &amp; personal finance and implements individual service plans.<\/li>\n<li>Assists the Individual with activities of daily living such as feeding, lifts, transfers, hygiene, grooming and toileting.<\/li>\n<li>This may include transfer of function duties such as gastrostomy feeding, tracheostomy management, suction and bowel management.<\/li>\n<li>Assists in carrying out health related care, including physical &amp; mental, setting and attending appointments with doctors as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Administers medication to the Individual in accordance with established policy.<\/li>\n<li>Participates in various Individual-focused activities in accordance with service plans.<\/li>\n<li>Acts as a positive role model for Individuals, coworkers and members of the community.<\/li>\n<li>Assists in creating and maintaining a pleasant working climate that is conducive to the Individual\u2019s training and progress.<\/li>\n<li>Carries out designated Individual programs &amp; guidelines of both, behavior management and skill acquisition nature, and collects related data.<\/li>\n<li>Recognizes, analyzes and deals with potential emergency situations such as an Individual\u2019s aggressive behavior to ensure no harm comes to the Individual and\/or the public.Reports problems to the team leader.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains current knowledge of all emergency and safety procedures and is prepared to deal with situations<\/li>\n<li>as they arise.<\/li>\n<li>Provides emotional support and feedback to residents and their families.<\/li>\n<li>Transports and assists Individuals to appointments, shopping or leisure activities.<\/li>\n<li>Performs residence maintenance and housekeeping duties such as laundry, sweeping, mopping floors, mowing lawns, inventory, shopping, cleaning equipment and food services.<\/li>\n<li>Assists in approaches designed to teach Individuals to perform these duties to the greatest degree possible.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains records &amp;
